Terry and Doug named as life members

Doug Alsop and Terry Wyatt have been named as life members of St Austell Running Club.

With the club nearing their 10-year anniversary the the duo were recognised by the club’s committee at the Annual General Meeting.

They have become the first life members of the club.

Also on the night, Terry Wyatt stood down after four years as chairman of the club with Martin Trethewey taking over in the same role, stepping up from vice, Melissa Rowe voted in as vice-chairman.

On the captain’s side of things Jamie Masters and Kimberley Small became the new men’s and ladies’ team captains with Nigel Marshall taking on the role of vice-captain of the men’s section and Wendy Poole the ladies’ section.

Debbie Watts also became the club’s new treasurer replacing Sarah Bazeley after several years in the role.

The officers of the club for the following year are as follows:

Chairman – Martin Trethewey

Vice-chairman – Melissa Rowe

Secretary – Andy Trudgian

Membership secretary – Jane Thomas

Treasurer – Debbie Watts

Men’s captain – Jamie Masters

Vice-captain – Nigel Marshall

Ladies’ captain – Kimberley Small

Vice-captain – Wendy Poole

Committee – Scott Pateman, Terry Wyatt, Shaun Scrace, Georgina Speake, Geoff Bazeley, Gareth Rowett, Rachael Staff, Doug Alsop, Helen Stuthtridge, Charlie Trethewey, Claire Todd and Debbie Marshall.
