Latest News!

Well done to all those who ran the Cornish Marathon, once again excellent support all around the course. Brilliant effort by Dan to break 3 hours in his first ever marathon and a PB for Mark Crowle. Tracey and Anna Tappin were our female representatives and both had good runs. Dan, Bruce, Paul Bullock and Reg won category prizes and the men's team were 2nd behind a strong Hayle team.

Thanks to Doug for taking computer entries and getting the results out promptly, as well as running the marathon!

Well Done to everyone that has raced for ST.Austell in this year's Cornish Grand Prix. This being our first season, we have performed fantastically. 4 men finishing in the top twenty in the Men's Open, Dan Alsop 3rd in the under 40's, Bruce Maclaren 3rd in over 45's, Malcolm Roberts winning the over 50's and Doug Alsop 2nd in the over 55's, and the men's team finishing 3rd. Not to be out done, Rachel Bestwick finished 15th in the Women's Open. Sue Mellis 2nd in over 55's and Marilyn Mitchell winning the over 60's. The ladies also finished a well placed 7th in the team event up against some real stiff opposition. 58 men and 53 women wore the purple and gold and of these 22 men and 10 women completed the minimum 8 races. 3 of the men completed all 14 races. This is no mean feat for a club born 1 year ago. In addition, we must not forget the race day support that was brilliant for the whole season. Sunday's marathon being a fine example, with support and encouragement appearing around the whole course.

Sunday is MOB MATCH day followed by the Grand Prix presentations, so lets make it a fantastic finally for a great year at a great club!

*_CORNWALL ROAD RUNNING GRAND PRIX SERIES 2009_*
After three very successful years, the St Austell Physical Therapy Centres' sponsorship of the Cornwall Road Running Grand Prix Series
comes to an end at the end of this year. For each of those years, we have received £1000, which has gone towards the cost of the annual awards to successful competitors in the series.
Subsequently, we are now seeking a new sponsor for the series, which next year will see 15 races having GP status. If any club member knows of any individual or company/organisation who they believe may be interested in sponsoring our Grand Prix, then please
let Doug Alsop, Chairman of the Cornwall Road Running & Racing Group know as soon as possible.
