Main Group Time Trials
These take place with the main group on a tuesday or a thursday evening. In the winter they are run in Carlyon Bay on a two-lap circuit totalling 3 miles that starts at Andy’s running shop. Summer time trials take place on Pentewan trail starting at the Sewerage works. It is an out-and-back route totalling 4 miles.

How not to do a time trial
- If you use you own watch as a guide, make sure you note the time correctly when you start.
- Don’t start too fast as you may suffer later.
- If you have gone too fast and begin to suffer, and your time looks like it will be slower, DON’T give up.
- If offered help on the run, don’t be so stupid as to turn it down, they may help you finish in a more reasonable time.
- When you do finish, check what your time really was. You may find you have done better than you thought and you needn’t have been so pi**ed off with yourself.
Morale of the tale. Go out and do your best, if there is someone that will pull you along, take the help,most of all leave the time keeping to those in charge and just get on with the running.
